WEEKLY FISHING REPORT

Wednesday (04/04/12)- The bite was great this afternoon. We had a crew out from NJ Transit.
We had 13 fish in less than three hours. Frantic bite and everyone went home happy and with fish.
Almost all of the fish caught were between 12-18 pounds, only had a couple of shorts.

Thursday (04/05/12) - We worked a little bit harder today and ended up with 16 fish.
Only 4 were keeper fish, they were much smaller but still not a bad day.

Friday (04/06/2012) - We had the Dyer Charter out this morning.
We had 20 bass in the boat by 11 am and almost all of the fish were between 16 and 18 pounds.
We could have come home with a limit for everyone but we only kept 7 fish. We had a great morning!!
If you want to catch bass, I would say it doesn't get much better than this!

Saturday (04/07/2012) - Fished today with a few friends.
Tough conditions with the moon tide and winds about 20 miles an hour against the tide.
Still had a decent day, 10 fish, 6 were keepers with the largest going 16 pounds.
We were back in the dock at 11 so not a bad day for 4 hours on the water.

Tuesday (04/10/2012) -  We had the Mike Pellichero charter out today with Mike, Joe, Gerry Louizza and
Todd Powell from local 456. The day started out slow with the west
wind and outgoing tide pushing us all
over but we managed a decent day. Total was 10 fish with 5 of those being keepers. The bite seemed not so aggressive
and we did drop some fish today but all in all it was not a bad trip and we had a great group of guys.
Thanks Again Guys - Capt. Steve

Thursday (04/12/12) - We had a few guys from NJ transit out for an afternoon trip. J
oe Pop, Jeff Meisner and Brian Idyk. Trolled up 15 fish and 8 keepers in a couple of hours.
The biggest fish was about 18 pounds. We got back in the dark so not a lot of good pics but a very good trip again.

Friday (4-13-12)
- We had Brian and Vlad out for a short evening trip.
Trolled up 7 keepers in a few hous again. It was a good trip for a quickie.

Saturday (4/14/12) - We fished with the Mike Jesionka, Young Mike and Friend Neil. Well today was a reality check.
After 10 trips of not coming in with less than 6 keepers.
We could only scratch 3 fish today and only one was a keeper. Hit the same areas where we had been sucessful
for the  past couple of weeks. We had some good readings but the fish would not bite.
Reminder to me of that's why they call it fishing.
We all had one shot at a fish. Thanks Mike and Neil - had a good time with you guys.

Wednesday (4/18/2012) - Trolling had slowed down a little bit so I decided to go out with Paul,
my mate and do some clamming.
We only caught 1 fish clamming but it was a nice 35" fish. So we went back on the troll and
picked up 5 fish and 4 keepers.
Also the longest fish of the year at 37". It seems some better fish were here with this group of fish.
We only kept 3 fish because we have been taking so many.

Thursday (4/19/2012) - Fished with Frank M. from Core Pharma, and regulars Joe and Jeff from NJ Transit.
Got a late start today about 4:30.
Started the troll in the same place as yesterday with no lick.
After about an hour we decided to make a move. I'm glad we did because we boated 5 fish before the sun went
down with 4 keepers. 2 fish about 35 inches long about 18 pounds. Plus got in a beautiful sunset.

Saturday (04/28/2012) - We tried clamming on round shoal today. It was no good at all. Some bluefish bite offs and no bass. So again we picked up and went on the troll to a couple of our usual spots. We picked up lots of blues but did salvage the day with a couple of bass.

Tuesday (05/01/2012) -  We made bait today, had all of the fresh bunker you could want. We tried an area east of round shoal and drifted chunks and livies. There was no action not even blues. So went on the troll while we were moving to a new area and picked up 2 nice bass on the way. We found some bunker schools and netted some more livies.
Then we drifted and chunked but the bluefish ganged up on us again.
It was incredible watching the live bunker getting chased and eaten by the bluefish on the surface. We should have shot a little video because it was crazy to watch. Another body of bass should be in any day now.

Sunday (05/13/2012) - We headed out real early this morning to make a run into the ocean, the bait was made and we headed south. We fished in the bunker schools for a while and caught nothing.
Then I talked to a buddy of mine and decided to head east.
We had dropped a couple of livies and within a few minutes hooked up on a nice fish - 42 inches and 29 pounds but
that was it. We did have a couple more run offs and blue fish bite offs.
We decided to go on the troll and we picked up a nice 33" fish.
Our first run to the ocean shows some promise.
